For the last few months I have been working on a few projects: Glamorosas, licensing deals, illustration for magazines and beauty lines, this blog, and working with make up artists for the Motives cosmetics line. I have been working like MAD and pulled in so many directions, long days with little rest and some set-backs of programs not going through. Winning some – losing some.
I have always loved Les Brown and follow his every word; when I saw his latest post I thought it was written for me! And because a lot of us are living similar situations, I thought I would share it with you.

“Leap and grow your wings on the way down. Put all your bets on you and on your ability to achieve your goals. Throw caution to the wind!

If you have a catastrophic set-back…know that you have the power to over come it. If you lose a job, you will find another, or create one. If you make some mistakes, learn from them and come back again.

This is a time to use your talents, skills and resourcefulness to make a fundamental change and take your life to the next level. Remind yourself everyday that you’re in it to win it. You are your most valuable asset. Do what you need to do to make it happen! You have GREATNESS within you!!”
-Les Brown

Are you working towards achieving your goals?
Have you suffered any set-backs lately?
Made any mistakes recently?
I’m here to second what Mr. Brown says – remind yourself that you are here to WIN IT.
You have God given talents waiting to express, don’t live by default…
Bet on yourself, work hard, just do it!

Contrary to popular belief, winning is NOT a matter of luck. Winning is an attitude.
Make today the day that you take the lead in your own life by betting on yourself and being your greatest ally.

My question for you is:

What’s one thing you can do today to bet on yourself?

If you like this blog, if you’ve ever felt this way or if you have someone in your life that may get something from what I’m writing, comment below or share this post with your friends.

I need your encouragement too.

My 2015 Gratitude Jar and Why you need to join me in 2016

One of the wisest things I did in 2015 was my gratitude jar. I am …

  1. Thank you for writing about Les Brown. What a great motivational speaker. I remember reading something he said. “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.” It’s all about doing your best and going for it.

  2. Oh, Honey! You know some of us needed that post today! Mmm Mmm Mmm… This one was a wake up call for me. So glad you were inspired to write it. I didn’t even realize where I was placing my bets (or where I WASN’T) until I read this this morning. Thank you, sir. Love ya!
