DOLCE & GABBANA’S FALL WINTER 2018/19 – FASHION SHOW FASHION DEVOTION (VIDEO)

Dolce and Gabbana has been one of my favorite fashion labels for many years. Their flavor for beautiful prints still influences my work when I’m designing my scarves. And the duo’s Fall 2018 show was simply heavenly! I mean, who starts a show with handbags flying down the runway via drones? Dolce and Gabbana definitely does not do understated. They have put on many productions highlighting signature shapes and colors, but this Fall 2018 collection went above and beyond…. There was also plenty of high-flash sportswear, like a fully-sequined jersey, pink cotton candy wigs, headbands topped with purses, gorgeous velvet track pants, cherubs perched on eyewear, and a …

The 64 year old Accidental Icon – Lyn Slater

My girlfriend Erika sent me a short clip of this 64 year old “Accidental Fashion Icon.“ Needless to say I fell in love with Lyn immediately and wanted to share her story with you guys. Lyn Slater has been a professor at Fordham University for years and her students begged her to write a blog on fashion because they loved her style. Little did she know that she was going to inspire so many people! “This project is me saying: I’m not twenty, and I don’t want to be twenty” Slater explains. “But I’m pretty cool, and here I am.” …

In Love with the Spring 2018 couture Valentino collection

I haven’t posted about a particular designer in a while, but after watching the Spring 2018 couture Valentino collection I couldn’t help myself. The designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli, delivered a masterful and colorful collection, enhanced with feathers and an unfettered sense of fantasy. Powerful clothing has been the talk of the town in the couture shows in Paris, and the house of Valentino did not disappoint. The attention to detail and the feather hats that mimic leaves and flowers blooming around the model’s heads… magnificent! Pierpaolo did one of the most brilliant collections I’ve seen in years for Valentino. This is …
