My weekend at Oprah’s “Life You Want Tour” (Video)

The ONLY courage you ever need is the courage to live the life of your dreams. – Oprah I have been a fan of Oprah for a long time; but a fan of Iyanla Vanzant for even longer! A while ago I saw that Oprah Winfrey’s Life You Want Tour was coming to Miami and I really wanted to go, but LIFE got in the way of my finances, and I couldn’t manage the ticket price. However, I put the intention out into the universe… “If I’m suppose to be at this event… I will” then, I forgot all about …

The Marrero Collection featured on

I left the beautiful island of Puerto Rico almost 30 years ago, to pursue my dream of becoming a successful fashion illustrator. My brand of handbags, The Marrero Collection, is now featured on the fantastic online shopping destination dedicated to showcasing the work of artists and …

The obsession of illustrated handbags

First it was the estimated $50,000 painted Hermes Birkin bag of Kim Kardashian, then came the $2,950 – $4,100 Prada Saffiano Satchel Bags at Neiman Marcus. Then I realized that I should probably change gears from designing collectable figurines to designing beautiful handbags with my art. Some women are obsessed with bags… the new “Bag Lady.”  From clutches to totes, from Hermes to CHANEL, women love to coordinate their bags and change them according to their outfits, the season or even their mood. As a guy I think it would be like having a sneaker obsession, or like how some …

I love Coca-Cola Girls

I have always been obsessed with the 40’s and 50’s, not only for the gorgeous fashion, but also for the fabulous illustrated advertising of the decade. Especially the Coca-Cola girls ads. Artists like Alberto Vargas and Gil ElvGren are some of my favorite artists of the Pin- Up Girl era. Recently I went to Barnes & Noble and found this gorgeous book: Coca-Cola Girls: An Advertising Art History by Chris H. Beyer As sparkling and effervescent as the soft drink she symbolizes, the Coca-Cola girl has lived for more than a century as the perfect American beauty. In Coca-Cola Girls, …
