Wide Awake

In the middle of the afternoon or during weekends of training, I find myself needing a boost of energy. It is usually then that I take my second cup of coffee. As an alternative, I have discovered AWAKE energy drinks that provide energy and health benefits without the acidity or jittery side-effects of extra coffee. Just a few minutes after taking AWAKE I went from a groggy, semi-awake state to feeling like I was well-rested. You get a convenient boost of energy with fewer calories and less sugar than full-size energy drinks. The taste is amazing, very fast acting and NO …

Let It Go – from Disney’s FROZEN as performed by Idina Menzel

This holiday week I had the pleasure to see Disney’s new animated film Frozen. The animation was simply fantastic. One particular number that I fell in love with was”Let It Go” performed by Broadway star Idina Menzel. I found the lyrics beautiful and… I am not going to lie, my favorite part was when her beautiful – but subdued dress – turned into a Bob Mackie beaded evening gowwn, and her hips worked that dress to perfection like Shakira! I simply love this song, it is the best scene in the entire movie by far, when she finally is free …

I started at the end of July, probably one of my favorite moves in 2014. Crunchy numbers The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 23,000 times in 2013. My Downton Abbey Illustrations

My Downton Abbey Illustrations One of my all time favorite series is the British period drama Downton Abbey. Besides the amazing cast that includes non other than Maggie Smith, the story, the scenery and of course my favorite…the costumes! When the Hamilton Group asked me to design 2 figurines based on Lady Mary, I was ecstatic. We picked two of her most popular looks and the company loved them. However the licensing with the actual show fell apart and the figurines were never made. So I decided to share them with you and see what you thought of them. I’m …

ABOUT CARLOS MARRERO: Carlos Marrero knew he wanted to draw ever since he was a small boy watching the opening credits of Bewitched and I Dream of Genie with his grandmother after school. The bright colors and retro style that captured his imagination as a child have left their mark on his artwork ever since. He also draws inspiration from the glamour of the ‘40s and ‘50s: beautiful women with wasp-thin waists, dressed with the influence of the New Look of Christian Dior, with elaborate hairstyles, voluptuous gowns and chic accessories. Marrero’s illustrations appear in magazines and newspapers including Vogue, …
