My Life

Pasta lovers rejoice!

Pasta is what’s for dinner! My friend and business colleague, David Nekava, posted on social media about finding a black bean pasta that has loads of protein and fiber, without many of the nutritional downfalls of semolina pasta. It sounded too good to be true, but I’m an open minded individual and respect David’s knowledge in nutrition, since he is a trainer and looks amazing. I went ahead an ordered the Organic Black Bean Spaghetti Low fat Organic Gluten free Vegan Kosher The Spaghetti provides 27% daily value of protein, 48% of daily value of fiber and 36% daily value …

Carlos Marrero – Las Olas Magazine

Las Olas magazine did a short story on me a little while ago. Check it out! As a little boy, illustrator Carlos Marrero was watching the opening credits of Bewitched when he turned to his grandmother and said, “That’s what I want to do.” Sure enough, today that’s exactly what he does: Marrero’s fun, “1950s retro” fashion illustrations have appeared in countless magazines including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and he has licensed a fashionista called “Glamurella” – “a tongue-and-cheek, lifestyle of that “it” girl character,” as he calls her. As fun as it all sounds, Marrero maintains that “it’s not …

Dia de los muertos – Halloween

Dia de los Muertos Jeff & I Halloween is a holiday that so many of my friends live for. I haven’t had the desire to dress up in years, but for some reason this year I felt moved to come up with a costume, and promised my partner Jeff that we would go out and enjoy the fright-night here in Fort Lauderdale. Our friend Paul said he was more than happy to join us, soon after my girlfriend Jossy, and before I knew it, I was doing flower hats and make up for a gang of eight Dia de los …

Bootcamp Seminar for Entrepreneurs

Last week I had the honor to be the main speaker at a seven hour seminar for entrepreneurs. The seminar covered a range of different topics, all focused on helping the participants take their business to the next level. We covered everything from how to cultivate the right attitude for success, to new approaches on retailing and goal setting. There were helpful suggestions like having an “entrepreneur buddy”, as well as ideas on time management and how to stop procrastinating. Preparing for a seven hour presentation is not a small task, but what I love about doing this kind of …

OPC3 Beauty Blend and the potent anti-aging ingredient Pycnogenol

I have always said that beauty comes from within, and that is why I have been taking an elixir called “Beauty Blend” containing the potent anti-aging ingredient Pycnogenol. What is really exciting is that a recently-published paper from Horphag Research demonstrates the amazing skin health benefits of this natural plant extract. The paper is backed by nearly a dozen clinical studies that have used Pycnogenol in their research methods to show this ingredient’s unique skin health benefits. Click here to find out more: http://bit.ly/H3XeVL From the paper: “Pycnogenol & Skin Health FindingsThere are four key skin health benefits outlined in …

Fashion with Motives Cosmetics for a cause

Ever since I was a little kid I have been obsessed with fashion shows. I love the excitement of it all – the anticipation of unveiling new looks for the season, the presence of an audience, the drama of the last-minute fittings backstage, and the thrill of each model making their way down the catwalk in front of an eager audience of photographers and spectators. It’s art, design and theater all at the same time. Now I never really wanted to make the clothes myself, but I have loved working as an illustrator for fashion designers, capturing their vision not …

In the Dollhouse: Barbie and Ken’s Less Than Perfect Life

Barbie-Inspired Photographs of a Loveless Marriage. The Body, Face, gorgeous long blond hair, the perfect careers, the most amazing clothes, shoes, cars, houses and….Boyfriend! KEN his blonde hair  and body was perfection.
