Some of The Best and Worst Met Gala Dresses of All Time

The 2018 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala (a.k.a. the Met Gala) is tonight!    The event, which always takes place the first Monday in May, will be hosted by Amal Clooney, Rihanna and Donatella Versace. The theme this year, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which could not be more apt given the influence religion has had on the sartorial, and of course, the Met’s rich body of religious artwork.  How are celebs in attendance interpret the theme? We’ll have to wait to see.    In the meantime, I invite you to take a trip down memory …

Carlos Marrero – Style Maker inWESTON Magazine

It’s not every day that you get a phone call from the editor of the magazine asking you if you would do an interview for their style issue. That’s the kind of call you dream about, and that’s exactly the call I got a couple of months ago to be part of the top five style makers for inWESTON magazine. It was an honor to be part of this great group of style makers and the photo shoot was so much fun. The photographer, Ricardo Mejia, did an amazing job for this spread! Colors for Fall 2018 designs for the Marrero Collection Scarves

I’m in heaven creating the new Fall 2018 designs for the Marrero Collection scarves. Pantone colors are BEAUTIFUL. Autumnal hues that evoke the feeling of leaves on the forest floor, rich plumage and twilight reveal a modern fall palette of deep and rich tones with outbursts of colorful surprise. What do you think? My favorite part is the creative process of the print and seeing how they come to life, a sense of channeling and bliss. I just love it. From the PANTONE site. Combining classicism with colorful expression, the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report Fall/Winter 2018 features a bold palette of autumnal …

In Love with the Spring 2018 couture Valentino collection

I haven’t posted about a particular designer in a while, but after watching the Spring 2018 couture Valentino collection I couldn’t help myself. The designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli, delivered a masterful and colorful collection, enhanced with feathers and an unfettered sense of fantasy. Powerful clothing has been the talk of the town in the couture shows in Paris, and the house of Valentino did not disappoint. The attention to detail and the feather hats that mimic leaves and flowers blooming around the model’s heads… magnificent! Pierpaolo did one of the most brilliant collections I’ve seen in years for Valentino. This is …

Marrero Collection fashionista scarf featured in Downtown magazine

Having your product featured in a major magazine is one of the coolest thing about having a fashion accessory line. Downtown Magazine is the quintessential lifestyle magazine capturing the heartbeat and attitude of this lavishly diverse community. As the first glossy publication to focus primarily on this area of New York City, Downtown Magazine provides smart, stylish coverage of all that lower Manhattan has to offer. I was asked to be a contributor for the specific issue and picked some fabulous products for the readers, so I thought the perfect scarf for this demographic would be the fashionista scarf with all …
