T-shirts that will elevate your look / Marrero Collection

I am so excited to introduce my new line of all-over print T-shirts, a capsule collection line inspired by some of the shows from Paris, Milan, and New York that is perfect for this summer! Designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Moschino and others showcased runway looks full of word prints, flowers and cartoons… and I love them! A lot of designers we’re also showing similar looks for male and female on the same catwalk, so I decided to do that as well. My line has a little bit for everyone, from bright colors, to a cool black and white …

Met Gala 2018 Red Carpet/ Daily Flash TV

The Met Gala, otherwise known as the OSCARS of fashion, did not disappoint this year. The exhibition—“Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”— had drama aplenty. The event began on the iconic stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art where mega stars swept up the red carpet for their grand entrances. Hosted by Rihanna, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace, I believe that this was one of the best Met Galas to date. I loved seeing how the stars interpreted the theme throughout the night, so I was really excited when Daily Flash TV invited me to be part of their “Fashion Police” …

New scarf designs by The Marrero Collection

As a designer, coming up with a new collection can be exciting and scary at the same time.  You want to follow your style, but you also want your pieces to be liked (and ultimately purchased). I begin by looking at the Pantone color fashion forecast and then sketching different designs, some geometrics, and then some more organic shapes. For this season I decided to design 3 versions of each design and have my followers vote on their favorites. So in a way WE designed the new Marrero Collection. I had so much fun hearing from you and am excited to show you the results. …

Aventura Fashion Spread Features Marrero Collection Scarf

When a stylist picks one of your pieces to be featured in a fashion spread for a magazine, it’s not only an honor, but it’s a validation of your work. You never know how your garment is going to actually appear, or be featured in the final cut.  With my line of fashion scarves, they sometimes get lost in the photo as a simple accessory.  However, when your product is featured as the opening spread for the issue, and is also included in the table of contents… it really is an incredible endorsement! Gio Alma is one of the best …

Marrero Collection April, 8th Trunk Show

On April 8th I had the pleasure to meet some amazing fashionistas for a Marrero Collection Trunk Show in Fort Lauderdale. The perfect trifecta Fashion, Prosseco & hors d-oeuvres! For a designer is an awesome opportunity to connect in person and see what your client wants, and this event did just that. My best friend Robert Banner hosted the event at his gorgeous home, other besties include Xavier Maranon (Photographer) & Flavio Iryoda (Video) The ladies shopped and networked and the energy in the room was light, elegant and fun….just the way I like it. If you want to be …

Marrero Collection on “Daily Flash TV” Show – Video

I had seen the Daily Flash TV show a few times and loved it because I know Ana Quincoces from a fashion show I was part of during Miami Swim Week. Ana was so nice to me and we really connected that day. I also followed her career throughout The Real Housewives of Miami and Food Network Star, man, this woman can cook! I also started following the handsome Warren Wright, Ana’s Daily Flash co-host, on Instagram – I love his love for cool socks! I commented on a few of his posts and as luck would have it Warren saw …

Carlos Marrero – Style Maker inWESTON Magazine

It’s not every day that you get a phone call from the editor of the magazine asking you if you would do an interview for their style issue. That’s the kind of call you dream about, and that’s exactly the call I got a couple of months ago to be part of the top five style makers for inWESTON magazine. It was an honor to be part of this great group of style makers and the photo shoot was so much fun. The photographer, Ricardo Mejia, did an amazing job for this spread! Style by the Mile By Linda Marx …

Help me pick the first Fall 2018 design – Color way Mandala

I’m working on the 2018 Marrero Collection prints for the Fall scarves, the Pantone forecast colors are just breath-taking. Something different for the usual Fall oranges and browns. Don’t you think?   As you Probably know by now I love Mandalas because of their spiritual meaning.   The word Mandala (pronunciation mon- dah- lah) means “circle”.  A Mandala represents wholeness, a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relation to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds. Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing the notion that life is never ending. Many mandalas have spiritual significance to an individual or group of individuals. The Hindus …

Cuban pop sensation, Willy Chirino wears Marrero Collection

As most of you know…  1. I live in South Florida 2. The Cuban population in Miami is massive   There is a plethora of cuban artists who have thrived in the sunshine state, or, for that matter, the world: Celia Cruz, Andy Garcia, Pitbull, Gloria & Emilio Estefan, Lissette Alvarez… but a list of talento like this would not be complete without the creator of the Sound of Miami and Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Willy Chirino.  Cuban pop sensation Chirino has recorded over 30 albums, several of which have attained platinum and gold status, Grammy awards, and is celebrating forty years as an artist.   Chirino …

I’m happy in anticipation of what’s coming in 2018

Read the headlines on any given day and it’s easy to become jaded and discouraged about tragic events happening all around the world. But despite the depressing headlines, there are many positive things to look forward to as we begin a brand-new year. I’m looking to 2018 as a fresh start, not looking at the past but focusing on a new chapter in my life waiting to be written. I will work on discarding preconceived notions of what others think, and recreate the person I want to be. Trying not to compare myself with others. Not listening to the thoughts …
