Taking Risks and Entrepreneurship – Interview with Seth Godin

Is 2014 the year that you take risks?

Is it the year that you go for your goals- with the approach of the cost of failing is greater than discovering what works or what doesn’t?

I love this interview with American author, entrepreneur, marketer, and public speaker, Seth Godin, where he discusses trying out new ideas, taking risks and entrepreneurship.

Is the year where you go for it without being afraid of failing, or worse yet being afraid of what other people would say if you do fail.

One of the things I like the most about this interview is the distinction he makes between people working for someone, or entrepreneurship.

Freelancing (graphic designer, make up artist, website designer, etc.) is not the same as an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is someone who makes money while he or she sleeps.

I learned about this particular idea in the last couple years. I had thought that makeup artists that were used to freelance work would be great entrepreneurs.  A lot of them like to work for themselves but may not have a Vision about building an entrepreneurship opportunity.

Entrepreneurs know that value of trying out new things. Take risks – that is the message.

Is the year where you take the risk, when you try a new business venture, where you go back to school? Take a course on the new subject you’ve been meaning to explore? Where you start your own blog?

This is the year where you just do it!
